After taking the last six months off to manage the epic (I do mean huge) move from Dubai to Toronto, it’s finally time to climb back on that big white horse and start gigging again. You know practicing, working out, putting together new tunes and generally acting like a musician again however…The real satisfaction is getting up there and playing for real in front of an audience. So what do I go and do? Book a stand at Toronto’s Bridal Show this weekend. Yup… Perhaps some of the most critical eyes and ears are going to be like lasers watching everything I do. Future brides arm and arm with their moms, friends, siblings, and maybe even the odd fiancé. (Poor guys) They are looking for something special for that extraordinary day that is “The Wedding”
So the pressure is on. Although nervous I’m also excited. I get that way before every event and I wouldn’t have it any other way. But the nerves usually go away after the first note is struck and I see the first smile in the crowd.
The unique difference between exhibitions like this and other events? Here, we get to talk! Chat, gossip, blather, chinwag, oh yeah…I can do that. According to my husband I’m an expert. So if you like what you see and hear and you feel like having a chat about the best way to include me in your all-important day…we can simply sit and talk about it. After all, I took six months off! I have a mountain of conversations I can’t wait to get out.
So I’ll see you this weekend. Direct Energy Center Exhibition Place. Stand D400. Right next to the big Hudson’s Bay booth. Just look for the big white harp on a pedestal of flowers. That’s my big white horse.
