Elena – Canada’s Most Elegant Entertainer? Well it certainly sounds good to me! We Toronto harpists may be having a little tug of war over the word “elegant” but that’s okay because I believe we are a stylish bunch. The harp itself is simply one of those beautiful, wonderful sounding instruments that says “classy” Add a custom designed Swarovski adorned electric violin to the mix and it’s shouting perfect!
Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Sudbury, Kitchener, and many other destinations in and around southern Ontario continue to be towns I perform in. Now I’d very much like to expand my travels to some other cities and towns across Canada. I have figured out ways that I can still maximize the 3 instruments in one-event deals I do here locally for you in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, or other towns.
Let me tell you how it can work. As some of you are aware right now I bring one of my harps, a couple of violins, small sound system, gowns, hair, and makeup are all included in a performance. When venues have a piano I even include a set on the keys too! 3 lovely instruments played as you see it all in one event.
Many cities have music stores and musicians that do harp rentals. Many banquet halls, hotels, and event places have pianos. There you go! Two of the largest instruments I play are now taken care of via a rental, which in most cases you can get delivered right to the venue by the renter. I then jump on a plane here at Pearson in the morning with an electric violin, small cable bag, gown, and be anywhere in Canada in just a few hours or less. I can however still travel with the medium sized white harp as it fits perfectly in a custom flight case. It gets stowed as excess baggage and the extra charges are quite reasonable. Many times I prearrange a private van to meet at the airport or an Uber XL in a pinch. I prefer playing my own instrument of course and this we would try and work out before the rental option. In the end it’s whatever works best for you and the budget.
When the show is over I head back to the airport and back home! In many cases I don’t require accommodation and my ground transportation, food, other incidentals are included in the fee.
The electric violin only package is of course the most economical option and you get at least a couple of great sets for cocktails and dinner even a set with the DJ may be included. Weddings? I’m all yours for the ceremony, dinner or both.
Remember we can still load up the van to take multiple instruments plus the bubble/sphere option. (More on the bubble here.) Driving upwards of 6 to 8 hours from Toronto is well within reason if travel, fuel, and costs are covered.
In the end you have an experienced, talented, entertainer that can cover many styles of music on multiple instruments as well as present herself in various appearances to represent the wishes of the client, venue, or bride.
Honest representations can be read and seen in the testimonial sections with many you can email for recommendations. All this offered at perfect price points and an easy going professional to get along with.
